Well, it’s official. Owen took his last dose of chemo! We had a celebration for him at Dave & Buster’s this past Saturday, and at the beginning of the party we had him take his last chemo pill. Such excitement!!! The kids had a blast playing games and celebrating!!!
It’s weird not having to remind him to take his medicine every night before bed. There is such a mixture of emotions running through me. Excitement that he is done, but nerve racking at the same time. I know anytime he has strange symptoms I will be nervous. For example, last night I was washing his hair and tons of his hair was coming out. Similar to how it did when it started coming out 3 years ago. I emailed the doctor, and he thinks there is nothing to worry about. He is not sure of the cause, but it didn’t seem to be concerning. We go back in two weeks for a blood check. I think that will be a hard one. We will also be talking about a date for his port removal. Owen asked if we are going to have a celebration for that as well… this kid…
Thanks for all of the prayers and notes! Owen loves hearing them.
Here is my Superman.

OWEN–You are a super duper HERO ! Even a warrior–you fought a brave fight against a terrible foe–and you – are winning the fight. Keep strong dear boy–prayers for you. You are a Champion! You have a brave Mom and Dad, too, plus your brother and sister. You have shown people you don’t have to be a big tall giant to win in battle. Bless you OWEN –My Hero !
Tell him I’ll celebrate the “tubies” going bye-bye
Owen is a super hero to all of us. He’s gone through so much in his short life and still remains a happy, fun loving little boy. So happy for Owen and the family.
