Through the night on Tuesday was pretty rough. He didn’t sleep much and was in so much pain. The whole night we kept checking his temperature to make sure he didn’t get a fever. We also kept debating if we should just take him to the ED or try to wait it out until his appointment at 11 the next morning.
Wednesday morning was the first time in a few days that he spoke and what he said was “it hurts so bad, I want to go to the hospital.” I packed our bags and headed out before 8 am. I called at 8:30 to beg them to take him earlier and they were so great to say bring him in. We got here and they got the morphine and fluids started right away. We spent a good part of the day in the infusion room on the clinic side of the floor before they decided to admit him.
The night wasn’t too bad… He was very medicated and slept a lot. This morning they were doing his vitals and noticed that his oxygen concentration was down and wanted to get him on oxygen. He fought and wouldn’t let them put the cannula in his nose, so they gave him a blow by that we basically hold in front of his face. It seems that the morphine is causing this. they are now trying to cut back the morphine. So, we are spending another night here. He is definitely better than yesterday morning, but now just not liking being here. Hopefully we will get out soon

I am so glad to hear he is feeling a little better. We are sending lots of love your way.
Feel better Owen! Saying so many prayers you are the bravest little boy!
We are friends of Dave and Shirley and we keep all of you in our prayers. My favorite scripture verse is Ephesians 3:20. It encourages us to give God the glory for His almighty power at work in our lives. We need to keep Owencovered in prayer, but we also are encouraged to give God glory even before we see the miracle we are praying for.
Have a GODSITIVE ATTITUDE,BELIEVING THAT GOD IS ACTIVE IN OWEN’S LIFE AND LOVES HIM BEYOND WHAT WE ARE CAPABLE OF.
May God’s blessings be wth you and give you the grace to believe in HIS power. Anita bertuzzi
